The last time I blogged it was Memorial Day and here we are approaching the 4th of July. WHOOPS~
I just HAVE NOT been into it.
But let's see - we met with a home builder - that's a start! I went to FL and had a great four days. It was very relaxing and it's always good to see my family.
I've made some good dinners ... and things are just plugging along ... I'm just busy and tired and those things that come along with livin' .... :)
I will be posting my FL pics soon.

Blanca Surveys Her Domain
We had never met her before- but she happened to be out there that same day with HER two babies- two giant labs. Looks like we have a dog loving neighbor!

BAY-CON
I learned a lesson today - bacon is one of those things (like shoes) you spend money on.
I went to the store this weekend and splurged on the Wright brand bacon. I got the 24 oz package which had just as many pieces as the 12 oz package, but much thicker. It was $7 and it almost killed me to buy it. I am soooooooo used to $2.59.
But tonight I made BLT's and they were INCREDIBLE. The bacon stayed thick and STRAIGHT when I cooked it. Heaven.
Spend money on BAY-CON.

Won Ton Love
So I made an amazing chinese dinner tonight. Chicken teriyaki and rice with egg rolls AND homemade dumplings. It seems the world is on a dumpling craze right now.
After reading it on another blog and talking to Kelley, I finally figured out won ton wrappers are kept in the produce section BECAUSE they are raw dough. WHO KNEW? So I located some this weekend. Tonight I made chicken and shrimp ones and WOW - WEE it's SO good.
My next genius move? Dessert Dumplings. I will hit the grocery store for ice cream on the way home tomorrow. Imagine it ... you cans stuff these things with all manner of things: bananas, strawberries, brownies, peanut butter, etc ... you can fry them up and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Top with BLUE BELL vanilla ice cream and some caramel sauce. SHUT UP - I KNOW !!!! So tomorrow I'll be trying it. I am SO stoked! I feel like I discovered electricty or earned the right to vote.
It was a good day.

Bad Blogger
I'm sorry I've been neglecting my blog lately!
It seems these health issues just almost completely brought me to a stop. I had a few days of mild hysteria/panic attacks and it made anything but sitting on the phone with my dad, sobbing, impossible. If that isn't a public safety annoucement for parenthood, I don't know what is. Just because we grow up, does not mean we go away! Thanks Dad!
It appears I have a touch of Mitral Valve Prolapse, common in white women and thyroid patients. I happen to be both. YIPPEE. Doc Wilson put me on beta blockers and now I'm trying to adjust to them. At first, they make you VERY ... lethargic. I looked up this particular one, because I was exhibiting some odd side effects and it was as I had suspected - this particular medicine is given to people to make them calm down, such as PTS syndrome patients, newly back from war. It's sort of a ... anti-depressant of sorts. I shared with the good doctor about my complete mental breakdowns and the way I accosted my father with wailing and tears, every night. He looked taken aback at first and then shortly, I had my handy dandy prescription.
Today is day three, it's hardly had time to absorb, BUT the chest pains are mostly gone - a twinge here and there and the palps are barely detectable..... but I am also feeling sort of ... "what-ev's" ... I am in no hurry to do anything, at the risk of saying I just don't care about much ... lol ... I am just very very relaxed.
Good job Doc! Clearly he knew what meds to put me on. I did not have this feeling with the last beta blockers I was on. It's sort of that monotone, I don't care feeling without the wine. :) I daresay, Conrad is THRILLED. There is peace in the house once again.
